Let me first take you to the place where I lived all the way from my childhood to my adulthood, my village-MANGANAM.
Manganam ('Manga Vanam' - as the name indicates-"The Land of Mangoes"), a village in the South Indian
State of Kerala, is located about three kilometers away from the Kottayam Town. Even though urbanization
plays a drastic role in cutting down the trees, the place is still well known for variety of mango trees growing out there.
Manganam is main village in Vijayapuram panjayath in Kottayam Dist.
We have a series of famous churches, temples,
hospitals, schools and other social and spiritual institutions.
Christavashram-an ashram for service (It is also a camp
center), Kerala Balagram-a charitable institution for destitute, Catholic spirituality center, Marthoma Bethel Aramana, Mar
Athanesius Orientation center, Mochana - a center for de-addiction of drugs, Kerala Council of Churches Office, Agathimandiram-an
old age home are some of the well-known social and spiritual institutions in Manganam.
